Just a quick update this time, with a highlight on an upcoming concert happening this Saturday that I’m thrilled to share!

Plus, there’s exciting news about a choral piece of mine that recently won a competition.

Live Ambient Music @ Lilburn House

Yes, I’m playing a live show!

I recently formed a new trio with fellow composers Liam Furey and Nathan Carter, creating immersive, chill music that blends contemporary classical, jazz, and ambient influences. We’re calling ourselves furniture trio, and we’re performing a living room concert right here in Wellington this Saturday!

Join us for an evening of spacious ambience and beguiling electronic textures in the cozy, intimate setting of the legendary Lilburn House (22 Ascot St, Thorndon, Wellington).

Doors open at 7:00 pm, and the music begins at 8:00 pm. Entry is by koha. We’re excited to be joined by opening acts lucky omen and spirit schema, who will set the mood for a fantastic night of live music.

While I’ll be sharing more details in my next full newsletter, I justed wanted to include an update: my recent choral piece has won the Open Category in the Compose Aotearoa! competition hosted by Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand!

We’ll be workshopping the piece at the end of next week, and I hope to have a recording to share with you soon. You can find my press release from Compose Aotearoa! attached below.
